A Close Call

I've never had my life flash before my eyes...Until now.

Picture this -
Last Sunday started off like most others. A groggy stretch and roll out of bed as the alarm sounded faintly in the distance. Quick shower, fast make-up and off to work. Everything was good. I got home around 12:30, hung out with the boys....again, everything good. Jack went down for a nap while Adam, Luke and I spent some time together. At about 4:30 I decided to take Luke with me on a quick Trader Joe's run. Moments later, a life changing experience.

As we made our way through our green light right outside of our development, another car ran a red light, slamming into us. My heart dropped. We spun around, Luke was screaming and we were pushed off the side of the road. Once my car was grounded I jumped out and grabbed Luke, he appeared fine and thankfully still is. I suffered some whiplash, worst of all the stress and anxiety of the accident itself. My tire on the rear driver side flew off. The impact just missed the door that Luke's car seat sits next to. I truly feel like someone was watching over me.

Prior to the accident I was in a funk. I was stressing about Luke's night time sleep patterns. He still wakes up. I was online researching ways to get your baby to sleep better at night. What a wake up call. I don't care if he wakes up every night...Forever. I am so lucky.
